Good nutrition is simple but not easy. Most people cannot stop eating too fast, fat and sweet. Optimal nutrition means that you eat a wide variety of real food avoiding highly processed.

One of the foundations of good health is healthy eating. Everybody has his own nutritional needs based on age, sex, activity level and medical conditions.

Grains, fruits and vegetables are the based of the pyramid and are the excellent sources of protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and fiber.

Bread and cereal group is best to use whole-grain products such as brown rice, whole-wheat bread, oatmeal and crackers because all these provide addition
fiber, vitamin E, folic acid, magnesium and zinc.

Vegetable group and fruit go for a wide variety especially carrots, broccoli, spinach and squash supply a lot of iron, vitamins B and C.

More high up is the milk ( low-fat and fat-free versions ) and cheese group are great sources of protein and calcium.

Use lean meat and skinless poultry.

Beside the nutrition food. Please try the following :

  • Is good to drink plenty of water ( at least 8 glasses per day ) and limit alcoholic intake.

  • Control the total fat that you eat.

  • Regular exercise is very important to complement your healthy diet.

  • Drinks at least 3 glasses of variety fruits juice.

FOR SPECIAL WOMEN

  • Pregnant women - During pregnant, they have to increase the requirements of protein and iron. The growing baby will also need vitamin B6, so eat more grains, meat, fish and vegetables.

 

  • Breast-feeding women - Calcium and protein needs are greater for nursing women, so they should intake at least three servings of milk, cheese or yogurt daily. But pay more attention to the quality rather then the quantity of the food.

 

FOR THE OLDER ONES

Older adults always get tired more frequently and gain weight more easily, and also diseases like heart disease and diabetes may have already set in, so they need to do exercise continuously to keep their energy levels high, which along with a heart-healthy diet, also decreases their risk for many preventable diseases. They still need to eat a variety of foods with less fat, sugar and alcohol.

With all these tips will ensure that you will maintain a healthy, positive outlook and get the most out of life.
